My Sunday Photo and a Summer break
This is all I've got for My Sunday Photo this week, beach, beach and more beach. I never tire of living by the coast and our sea views.
And with summer in full fling and the school holidays nearly upon us, it's time to take a break. Stats and scores will plummet but none of that matters, what does matter is spending quality time with Miss CCL, celebrating her 5th birthday and getting out on our travels in the warmth of the sun and plenty of fresh air.

Happy Summer break everyone!
My Sunday Photo
I was in the nearby town of Seaford on Thursday taking flowers to my mum and having tea. Whenever I'm there I absolutely have to visit the beach which is literally across the road from where she lives. The loveliness of the day beckoned me but the best times are when the sea is rough, the waves high and the wind plastering me with sea salt!
I think I must have a few thousand captures of this beach alone over the years and these gorgeous little beach huts are so very seaside. They are smaller than usual but seem roomy inside (I had a sneaky peek as one of the lucky owners was there sunning herself).
The weather was fabulous that day, look at that sky.
Wishing everyone a Happy Mothers Day!
Happy, Healthy Belated New Year!
I've been a little unwell since the new year, a combination of too many celebrations, too little sleep and running on adrenaline in the mad run up to Christmas and all that entailed with school functions and all their text missives that need immediate actioning!
When you have a small child you don't get the chance to rest and recouperate, just taking her to and picking her up from school in the cold and damp is enough to set you back. A drenching (literally) or two were the last two straws this week.
I cannot wait for some Spring sunshine and lighter mornings, getting up before 7am when it is still pitch black is demoralising when you feel under par, but a huge bonus is seeing the sun rise over the sea view from our house. I will get my camera out one of these mornings and capture it.
I rarely get unwell so this new year has had me slowing down and getting a lot of extra sleep along with a truckload of natural remedies and I think I should buy shares in those very popular throat lozenges! Or maybe I've been made to sing Let It Go too many times!
So here's to getting a little less of this (and I know we have been fortunate so far this winter and missed the snow).......
And now I'm on the mend nearly half way through January, maybe I can put some of my goals for this year into place and start working on them!

L is for .... The Alphabet Photo Project
The beach is on my doorstep so it is hard to ignore or resist a visit especially in the summer months, but I will sit by the beach in all weathers, I think it is my spiritual home.
No matter where I go each day I either pass the seafront on my travels or see it from my bedroom window, the sight of the sea has always calmed my soul. So this week L is for Linger, taking time out of my day occasionally to linger over a cup of tea or coffee at the cafe on the seafront.
Linger - to stay in a place longer than necessary because of a reluctance to leave......

The Photo Gallery - A Photo I'm Proud Of
The Photo Gallery: The theme is A Photo I’m Proud Of.
I have thousands, yes thousands of photo's taken over decades that I am enormously proud of, whether they are technically photographically correct is another matter. But it doesn't matter of course, we all take the photo's of our loved ones and these days most everything!
I'm most proud of the camera I was using at the time, that captured the scene perfectly to my mind's eye.
How to choose, there are so many I loved taking....
This photo captures a grey, stormy day down on the coast where we live and the starkness of the burnt out Pier, still standing ....
but as I have posted that one before, I thought I'd add my favourite macro photo of an exotic poppy that turned up in my garden one summer, I saved the seeds and hope to replicate them once more as they didn't appear the next year.....
I love the intricacy of everything especially flowers through the macro lens, so detailed, so very beautiful.

Today...
Two things guaranteed to cheer me up and make me smile.
First today was a beautiful day here, look ...
First today was a beautiful day here, look ...
I was lucky enough to spend the whole day out with Miss CCL, capturing every moment, making memories before the time comes when school beckons next September ...
It doesn't matter that tomorrow it will be blowing a gale or raining, this is today ...
and the other ... a simple bunch of flowers, I love flowers, I photograph any I see, I find them utterly beautiful and so intricate.
Hope you had sunny day too.
